Oregon Ski Resorts Reporting Fresh Snowfall Overnight

Most ski resorts across the Pacific Northwest have experienced below-average snowfall this year, but Timberline Lodge is going strong with a whopping 541 inches on the season. That places them in the Top 10 in terms of total snowfall amongst North American ski resorts this year.

The resort plans to remain open late through the summer with skiing on the Palmer Glacier, as is tradition.

Just next door to Timberline Lodge is Mt. Hood Meadows, which hasn't officially reported a snowfall total as of 7:30AM PT. 

No matter, a quick look at Meadows' webcams shows that the resort wasn't spared. There appears to be at least 12 inches laying on Meadows' snow stake webcam. Check out the images below.

Mt. Hood Meadows is currently closed during the week, but will reopen for bonus weekends on the following dates: 5/3/2024 – 5/5/2024, 5/10/2024 - 5/12/2024, 5/17/2024 - 5/18/2024.

Powder hounds will have to wait til Friday, but fear not, the weather is expected to remain cold and snowy for the next week or so, according to OpenSnow.

South of Mt. Hood lies Mt. Bachelor, another one of Oregon's defining volcanic peaks. The ski resort is planning on remaining open through late-May, and their efforts should be bolstered by this most recent storm.

They're not reporting as much as their neighbors to the north, but 4 inches of overnight snowfall is nothing to pout about. Bachelor plans to remain open for skiing and riding through May 26th, 2024, conditions and weather permitting, of course.

It almost feels wrong to ski powder this late in the year, but if that's the case, than I don't want to be right.

Oregon's ski resorts are expecting consistent snowfall over the next week with the potential for two or more feet of snow.
