NHL bets: Two forward groups we expect to get in on some goals

We once again went 2-0 on our NHL article plays, and that is now 8-0 in our past four days. It seems only right that we just continue to win our bets, it's been way more fun.

The basis of our NHL betting success over the past few days has definitely been straights. However, I don't discriminate, and I prefer the path that these two SGPs offer for tonight on the ice. While they're both two legs, they're quite correlated, and in many respects I consider bets like these in the "straight" realm.

Carter Verhaeghe & Matthew Tkachuk 1+ point each (-105 DraftKings)

Lightning at Panthers, 7 p.m. ET

Florida's returning home up 3-1, and while Tampa Bay may have some momentum after avoiding a sweep on Saturday, I have no doubts that the Panthers are just as motivated to win this game and call it a series.

The Panthers have scored at least three goals in every game so far, and they typically find more offense at home.

It's been this combo on Florida's second line that has been most consistent. They both rank inside the team's top-three for even-strength shots, expected goals, and high-danger chances. Translation: they are finding room to operate against the Lightning this series.

Through four games, this points combo has hit each time. Verhaeghe has six points and Tkachuk has seven.

Tkachuk now has points in eight straight against Tampa, piling up 19 total, while Verhaeghe has 13 points in those eight games.

I'm in on this combo keeping it rolling at nearly even-money.

Alternatively, you could consider Anton Lundell point at +124, who centers this line. He has a point in three straight game. I prefer going to these two because they also spend a ton of time on the power play together, and they simply are just piling up way more points than Lundell.

Jason Robertson & Wyatt Johnston 1+ point each (+130 DraftKings)

Stars at Golden Knights, 9:30 p.m. ET

I still believe Dallas can win this series, and my read on them upping their offensive intensity most definitely still applies here on the road down 2-1.

We highlighted Johnston's shots on Saturday, elevated to the top line and owning some awesome history in Vegas. I like his shots once again, but also like these two to chip in on a goal.

Johnston looked like the best player on the ice Saturday on the top line with Robertson, scoring twice and finishing with eight shots. Robertson assisted both of his goals, and I see no reason this duo can't keep it rolling.

Robertson has a point in all three games (four total) and six points in his past four road playoff games in Vegas. Johnston has three points this series and had by far his most productive game once he started skating alongside Robertson.

By extension, you could consider Roope Hintz for a point at nearly even-money, though my concern with him is that he has no points yet this series.

Here's to an encore from Dallas.
